To be born, the Pascual Workers Cooperative Society had to pay, since 1985, a toll of blood and death, survive more than a thousand days of strike, economic hardships for workers and their families, the loss of their original plants, and government indifference. Forty-one years later, the sugary drinks tax, their expulsion from schools, and a market favoring transnational soda companies have it – again – against the ropes.
